Default Salt in oil?

I bought a 91 Accord recently with some motor problems. After it warmed up the oil pressure light would come on and I confirmed low pressure with a gauge. Proceed to pull the oil pan because I suspect sludge / sediment clogging the pickup tube.

After I pull the pan I confirm that infact there is something clogging the pickup tube. At first I thought it was sand as the bottom of the oilpan had 1/2" of it evenly across and the pickup screen was completely clogged with it.

The material looked almost like glass particles....I finally cleaned some of it off and tasted it.... SALT! WTF? Why would that much salt end up in the bottom of the pan?

Ever heard of this?
Think the motor was perminently damaged? It does sound fine, no knocking or clanking...

Wierd huh?

Um, what's "wierd" is that you tasted it.

Sounds like someone hated the guy you picked the car up from.

I agree in that someone was mad at someone...and you got the results...that sucks, but I'm not sure what it would do to the motor..I'm guessing it can't be good though...

I think you're suppose to use Sugar instead of Salt to screw with someone...but I don't know. Sounds lame none the less. Clean that **** out and see how she runs? Wash your tongue too, btw...oil + salt? YUM!

According to the latest TV adds, only oil & blood mix well. As for the tasting, I am shocked Chad, that's old school man. Although Ellis & Don can probably tell the difference between synth & dyno oil, or Dex Cool & regular anti freeze.

And I'm told that is the only way to determine for sure if they are real or implants.....

No idea how the salt would wind up there, would think someone had to pop the hood to do it. Wouldn't wind up there if someone threw it in some gas would it?

I'm guessing they popped the hood and poured it in the oil.

I'm not totally convinced that your taste test was accurate. Chop it up into a powder grab a straw and report back with your findings

Believe it or not I kinda think it does...then re-crystalizes after it sits a while. I was stirring it up in the bottom of then pan and after a min or so it kinda seemed like it was pretty much gone...next day it's all back.

I can tell by taste with some accuracy whether the concentration is too diluted or not with antifreeze

Dino vs. Synthetic is more smell than taste. Hard to explain.

DexCool is kinda like alcohol and Ethylene Glycol tastes sweeter than honey, except way thinner.
