PS pump question
No one has replied yet. All I can say is that the high side is in the neighborhood of 1500psi. If I find more specs I'll post them.

right on, I found a samll pump not sure if it will work but its for auto nav steering systems on boats from Raymarine. My thought is not only asthetics but how much power can be cut lose with taking that off the engine.
Well, the same amount of power may be used up by the alternator just to power the electric pump, so you may not gain anything unless the electric pump is more efficient.
Since the stock pump is working at all rpm's, but it seems to work fine at say 1000 rpm, I wonder if it's generating unecessary drag at higher rpms? Maybe there is a pressure bypass valve that only lets it generate a certain amount of pressure and then reduces the load on the pump?
I don't know, I need to learn more about how the whole system works.
