Got rid of the Cadillac

I have always been a GM guy, but the Cadillac gave us so much trouble. The CPS went out again so that was it.
We got a 2007 Chevy Equinox LT. Fully loaded. Nice Car/Suv/Wagon/Mini-van. Not sure what it is but is quiet and comfortable and the AWD is a nice feature.

The stealership I work at just got an Equinox 'sport' in with 265hp v6. Those things don't look to bad actually.

Whats the CPS? I like our Caddy quite a bit but there are little problems like the sunroof switch and stereo. Other than that its been a solid car, once the warranty is out I may sell it and pick up new one though....I just wish they would not have changed the bolt pattern on the wheels the wife is not going to like giving up her 20's!

CPS = Crank Position Sensor, wanna know how I know?

I got my GTP and a month or so after having it, it would randomly die. Did some research and turned out when the car would randomly die it usually meant it was the CPS. I went and got one at Schucks, went out to my Grandpa's and changed the unit, two weeks later same problem, turns out it was just a positive battery lead that was heavily corroded.

Month ago, CPS unit I replaced the stock one with bit the dust. I went over everything else for a week in my spare time just praying that wasn't the case, changed the coils and everything hoping it would fire up but never did.

Eventually got the car in the garage and spent a week trying to take off the crank because I was lacking tools to do it. Finally got it off pulled it out and replaced it with one I got from Napa and than I noticed the sticker on the old one that didn't even take me 50k miles...

"Made in China"

Moral of the story - don't buy a CPS unit that is Made in China!

Can't imagint it should have been too hard on the caddy though, now that I have the tools I could swap one out in two hours taking my time. Equinox does look good though!
