Ever notice that when you see it on TV it is hard to change the channel. I think its the morbid curiosity of what the rules are and how do they determine the winner. Maybe its just me.

Ya, I don't know the rules at all. It is really bizarre to watch though.

It's a sport clearly invented by drunk people who were bored in the middle of winter and had limited supplies.

Blanco,

I'm going to butcher your post(s) up abit here...

The Labor Disputes are a product of mismanagement in professional Baseball. Not because Congress cares more. The Most attendance? uh when you have 81 home games, I sure damn well hope so.... BTW its not a good sign when Wrestlemania outsold the Mariners in their own stadium.

Reread my post nowhere does it say its NOT in the Top 5. I hope you coach better then you read.

We're talking about fans who follow the game religiously. Fans who grow up and want to be players and fans who were kids once.
"Religious" Sports fanatics are the minority in this world. The NFL has the casual sports fans attention. No one cares what Miguel Tejada's batting average last season was.

ONE town does not make America. Boston is the ONE place that outdoes football, which is fantastic, especially considering they have the Patriots.

In warm weather states its played year round.
Yup and they probably ice skate year around in Edmonton, whats your point? They Drag Race year around in California, Arizona, Texas, and Florida among others btw.

Its also played in more countries around the world than any other sport except for soccer.
So does this make it "America's Game" or the "Worlds 2nd Place Game"

Baseball always has been and always will be king of the hill.
I am not naive enough to think that because I enjoy Drag Racing the most makes it the king of the hill. Drag Racing has to PAY to be on TV. Drag Racing doesn't even make it in the Top 10, maybe the Top 15. I don't like Soccer, but I'm not stupid enough to think the NFL is bigger then World Cup Soccer Worldwide.

Might not be your cup of tea, but dont be stupid about it is all I ask.
Now you see where my tone in this post comes from. Nowhere was I insulting to you or to Baseball. However you see fit to call me and/or my comments Stupid and Retarded.

I can appreciate the aspects of most all sports. I may not be a fan of them. Objectivity and Facts were the only things that I spoke of.

I can appreciate hitting a round ball with a round bat is probably one of the single hardest athletic things to do on this planet, but Marketing (or lack Therof) and management (or mismanagement), has resulted in other sports' growth like NFL and NASCAR, and the MLB's fall from grace.

We are at this point today in the U.S. that the best athletes are playing Football and Basketball. In Soccer, the average Physical Size difference between other countries and the U.S. is staggering. Baseball faces the same situation. Countries that are not a predominately Soccer fanbase have Baseball (or Basketball). In those countries, the best athletes available play Baseball (or Basketball). Lo and Behold, even with our great society we are no longer beating teams from smaller 3rd world countries half the time in Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball (we can blame the Self Centered Hip Hop Generation for the last one, as the athletes are there, just not the fundamentals).

With that said you can keep your demeanor to yourself. I think it was evident my candor earlier was in fun. You however decided to take it as a personal slap in the face..... That was your choice. Objectivity and Facts.

And who said Baseball is not america's number one sport??? Just go shoot your self in the head.... lol

Baseball is the #1 sport.. and always will be..

The reason the WWF Had sold out the Mariners Stadium, is cause Seattle sucks. So yeah it is real easy for that to happen..

You are right about the Marketing of the sport, football is all over the TV, Before during and even after the season. So I would hope they bring in more money...

Tell ya what... let them bean people with the ball instead of tagging them out, and I'll start watching... otherwise, it's about as exciting watching them "psyche out" the other players as it is watching the grass grow.

Baseball is not to the US what hockey is to Canada... Football is.

Call me UnAmerican, but if they took every baseball player on the planet and put them in a rocket and shot it into the sun, I can't say I would miss any of them.
If you are opening this can of worms up to the world, Cricket is the most boring -even worse than baseball, but not by much.

I thought he meant opening day of racing too...??

Oh, and by the way, the term "best athletes" and "baseball" do not go together.
