What does everyone think about pacesetter shorty headers for a 99 corvette? I need a 3 inch x pipe too, but not really sure of any decent brand names.

I got stainless steel long tubes for my vette off ebay for cheap. They required a few mods to get them to fit, but way better than a grand for a pair of headers.

I didnt know Pacesetter even made shorties for Vette's, Come to think of it, I don't even understand why shorty headers were even invented

Shorties aren't worth the effort when most all the long tubes fit so nicely and price wise there also isn't much difference. Its your choice but I wouldn't do it.

Default Thanks

I'm looking for best bang for the buck. I was just wondering because it looked pretty tight in the compartment. Also, there's an air tube of some type that changes location throughout the c5 years on the manifold. Oh, and Lane, let's take our cars to the autocross. Then let's see who'll win. HA! For now I'll check out ebay for the headers. Thanks guys.

Ha ha, yeah you might get me at the autocross, All I need to do is put my other tires on, and hope my auto will last through a couple laps. ha ha, I am sure I might be able to keep up with you then. lol. Ya right!!!

You could still get race headers, and get rid of the air on your car, Pacesetter is the best bang for the buck, And there is enough room in there for long tubes, If us F-body guys can fit stuff in there, I am sure you can too. Ebay probibly isn't the best place to buy parts for your car, check out the sponsers to the right>>>>>>>>

They can help you with just about anything, and there are always sells going on, just need to look for them.

Does Pacesetter even sell headers for vett's??? I am not really sure. So maybe someone else can give you some insight on that.

You know what is funny. I know a few cars blowing people away with those crappy shorty headers

LTs were not worth nearly as much as people claim they are.

Yes for a daily driver it would be my first choice.

We have my old SLP Shorties on the wifes car. Expect to see it running 11s later this summer and having two and a half more inches of ground clearance then most LTs

Jimmy will have to chime in but on the dyno it was a lack luster improvment over the SLP 1 3/4in shorties we were running and a huge loss in ground clearance.

I think the differnce here is the stock manifold on LSx cars are pretty good from the factory, so there is little gain from shorties, where as the LT1 and other's, their manifolds were more restrictive.

I think with the LT1 things are a little different. The LS1 stock exaust manifolds aren't all that bad. So while I would agree for a street H/C LT1 car shorty's are more than fine. I don't think they are worth it on a LS1 car, are they better than stock yes, kinda like a 78mm fast over an LS6. It is better but bang for buck is pretty pathetic, spend a little more money on a 90 and grow into it. JMHO Now if you could pick up some used LS1 shorties for cheap then heh why not???

On the C5 TSP offers some inexpensive headers I think I'd go with those, the LG's are very nice I had them on my Z06 but bang for buck they were not a good buy..Honestly I think I'd do a smaller cam only on the C5 then get some ported LS6 heads then buy the exaust for a low buck build. I had the Stealth II with stock exaust and it was still a great improvement over stock.
