Rack and pinion leak

Rack and pinion leak hey guys i know this probably belongs in the GM and repairs section but i like the info i get outta this section better, an i'll usually get some faster responses as well. Anyway, i have some leakage coming out of my rack and pinion at the driverside boot area, right around the clamp closest to the input shaft it looks like. I don't know much about rack an pinions, is there a seal inside the boot? or more than likely around the input shaft with all the lines going into it? I did a search but couldn't really find any pics to help, from what I hear, it looks like i'll have to replace the whole rack an pinion. Now I hear some guys go to a manual setup, do any of you guys run that? My car is my DD an im not sure how much i'd like that setup is it a PITA? thanx for the help

Replacing the rack is a pita...gm put the bolts to where when you pull them they go towards the oil pan. You have to remove a motor mount or both cant remember what i did. When you do pull it get shorter bolts and put them the other way lol. I am about help my buddie do a manual rack on his lt1 in the next few days ill let you know how that goes
