Default 57ft

I cruised this whole rig today for the first time. Just practicing some corners with it. I hope I don't have to parallel park!! This thing is a pig, but it's a blast. Be seeing you at Bremerton/Pacific soon.

It's definitely good to practice with a setup like that. It looks like you'll be having fun. If you ever need advice on how to handle a rig like that, just ask one of us professionals.

Always plan ahead and never back up unless there is no other option. Please tell me you had the hitch looked at and it is rated for that enclosed trailer. Seems a lot of RV's come with hitches only rated for tow bars or car dollys.

Si senor, that's very true. It was one of my biggest hangups while shopping. This one is rated for gcvw 25,000lb and hitched for it.

Glad to see you did your homework! would hate to see that trailer break loose with the vette in it.

Oh yeah that would suck. Although I have wished I could use some of the vette's power to get over the big hills.

Nice rig...something that long is a handful. Mine is 66 feet bumper to bumper and my biggest fear is not being able to complete a turn in town.
It's pretty difficult to see what the rear end is doing once you start your turn.
Wonder if some kind of closed circuit video camera mounted to the trailer would help.
What do you pro's do?
When I was in Oregon some of those guys are hauling three trailers and don't seem to have a care in the world.

It's all about anticipating your turn and knowing your rig. That 66' setup has a massive rear overhang, so you have to be sure to leave LOTS of room on the opposite side of your turn direction to keep the tail swing from hitting something/someone. What you should do is find a place you can run a turn test. Park all straight. Have someone use chalk to mark one side of the trailer. Then proceed to turn an minimum radius in the opposite direction. Have that person then mark on the ground the maximum swing out of your rear corner. I'd bet it's more than 3', possibly even 6' of swing. Knowing this then allows you to know if you have enough clearance before you start to turn. The other thing to note is the difference between where your front wheels track and where the rear wheels track. That tells you how late you have to make your turn-in.

As for the triple trailers, they're actually not as difficult as your super long single trailer because they track in line better.
