Default New to Idaho

Hey everyone,

Long time member here, just with a low post count.

My gf and I just moved from Orange County in "the great state of California" (hard to say that without laughing) to Meridian, Idaho (near Boise). We've been in our new house for a couple weeks and love it here already. I finally have a nice big garage to work on my WS6 and give her some much needed TLC (changed the spark plugs and wires last weekend).

Is there anyone else here that lives in the area? Any local mechanics or tuners anyone can recommend? There's a dragstrip ~45 mins away called Firebird Raceway (very fitting ) that I'd like to head out to in the next couple weeks.

Just trying to get an idea if there's any other ls1 and/or F-body enthusiasts in the area.

Welcome to the site!

There are a few of us on here from Idaho, myself being one. Where did ya move to in Boise? There arent many late model shops around here, your best bet is to do your own work.

If ya need any help working on the car dont hesitate to ask!

Default Another good shop

I use to live in Boise. Now I am in CA. I do Open Road Race and my cars live in Boise. All my races are in northen Nevada so less of a drive and my mechanic is in Boise.
It is Kimble Motorsports on Emerald near Orchard. 323-9950. He has built and maintained for me:
90 ZR-1 Corvette-total top end and custom exhaust

96 Coupe Corvette Unlimited Open Road Racecar-Total build from ground up-has averages 170mph for 90 mile races and has hit 206.5mph

01 Z06 twin turbo-total engine and clutch rebuild and lots of fab work for aero mods also an Open Road Car-Dynoed last week 683rwhp/794rw torque.

I would live in Boise if I could earn anywhere near what I make in the Bay area, that is how I afford to keep racing.

Boise has the BEST track in Division 6 IMHO. I was there over Labor Day and that place rocks. Great operators and even better facility.

I agree with NWDragRacer. I use to live in East Idaho (Pocatello) and still race at Firebird 3 or 4 times a year. I will be back for the Halloween Classic in the middle of October. Their are typically around 600 racers for the Halloween Classic and that is their last race of the year. The News (track owners) are great people and have a great track.
