If it's an elimination/heads up format I think Miriah will win, she's gone 11.3 with heads and cam and I'm sure she's looking to make the car a little faster... AND she's an A4 and she would be more consistent.

Go Miriah!!!!!!!!!

LOL! Thanks for the "props" Brad and Mir!

I have no idea what the format will be like. Originally, I was under the impression that it would be "Similarly" modified LT1's vs like LS1's. However, this was recently posted by Jim@GMHTP on CamaroZ28:

For those of you unfamiliar with what we're doing, this will in some ways be similar to what we did in our LT1 Bolt-on shootout last year. Rich has not announced this year's format yet and may not do so until the day of the event, to discourage folks from making changes to their cars prior to the shootout. Participants should keep in mind that many of last year's cars ran well off their previous best due in part to the last minute installation of new parts. I would not suggest using this shootout as a testing session to dial in your new combination.

The shootout was announced on this board, as well as a few others, including LS1.com, LS1tech.com and Corvetteforum.com.

Also, people should be aware that we kicked a car out last year just for being too loud, so if you plan on running without the appropriate safety equipment for your speed/ET on any of your passes, you run the risk of being shown the door and excluded from the article altogether. I don't know how many pages the story will run in the magazine, but I imagine it will be similar to last year's shootout.

George - I'll see ya there!

What, it was too noisy for them? Bunch of freaking sissies! I'm running around with my exhaust exiting after my cats, and its my daily driver, yet i dont mind it.

My guess is the exhaust isn't too loud for them. I think they're going for the "legal street car" approach to some extent. You might be driving with open headers, but you'r prob. past the the legal decible limit. Just my guess though....

When the suburbs started closing in around Englishtown and people suddenly realized they moved next to a dragstrip, the local racing community didn't put up enough resistance and noise ordinances were passed, restricting decibel levels at the track. I would encourage everyone to let their local track know they can be counted on to voice their support for the track at planning commission and city council/town board meetings. If you don't support your track, the same noise restrictions may be headed your way and if it's like Englishtown, local law enforcement may show up with dB meters if they get complaints from residents.
