IMO opinion its fixable. certianly going to need to get the frame straightened out. outside of that its some cosmetic work and a new rear and wheels. should be back on the road in no time.

Hey guys I was supposed to hear from the insurance yesterday, but guess they are running behind or crunching numbers. Some people are putting dibs on parts, and thats cool coz if its totaled I am going to buy it back and sell the parts. Thanks again, as soon as I hear I will let everyone know, thanks for the support! Right now I must enjoy the rental Toyota Camry...
Fix it up! Dont let that bird die out like that! If GM ever thought about making another Trans Am, you think it would look as kool as this car? Really This is one car in my book that probly cant be made better looking then what it looks like!
There is not one year trans am in my book that looks better then the 98-02! At least fix it so in 20 years you wont feel guilty seeing one in a junkyard, thinking to yourself that might have been my Trans Am.....
Insurance thinks its totaled, they have to get it up on a lift and see under it. I should know tomorrow. Rep. just made me send him a list of aftermarket mods since the whole suspension was done...

Insurance called--fair market value is $7200...are you kiddng me-CAR HAS 46K ON IT??? I can't even get a 1997 with 42k on it for 10k...i owe about 12k and have gap insurance, but don't think that will cover the rest of the payout..what to do?? So its totaled because the repairs exceed the value of $7200 no ****....
That's retarded. Fight it! Show them the listings in your area for trans ams of similar age and miles, or heck even more miles than yours has just to drive the point home that it is worth much more than $7200.
Well insurance will pay my loan company the money they think the car is worth, then I will owe the balance of the loan on the car since the loan is 12k. Trying to get in touch with them to have them give me the most money for it without totaling it so I can fix it.
New update, insurance messed up and put the value of the car lower since they put the mileage in as 133K, so they are going to give me $9135 for the car and then the gap covers the rest and I will only owe $691. I can buy the car back for $2000 and then I am going to have to part it out since I don't have the money to get it all fixed up.
