Default How to remove Camaro rear bumper ?

What are the screws that need to come off ? And can it be a one man job or do you need a second person ?

One man job for sure, put some protective padding the ground so you dont have to worry about slipping up. Bumper screws are generally in the wheel wells and on the underside of the bumper by the muffler. (that one is a guess)

remove tail lights and rear valence from inside the trunk area, remove fender well screws, remove bumper screws from inside the car that mount through the quarters, then remove all the plastic push pins. easy job and you can def do it yourself.

theres 3 (I believe) 10 mm bolts on each side that go through the bumper cover into the quarter panels. remove those and your good to go.

haha, I have the car all apart. The reason why Im taking it off its because I have an LED board for my License Plate light that hangs too long so I wanted to take the bumper off and do some cutting in order for the panel to go higher.

Old thread but I just did this, so:

things required to

2 thumbscrews each to remove the taillights
2 10mm nuts hold the bumper to the truck well (pass side is behind the spare)
4 10mm nuts hold berger panel on
2 phillips screws hold bumper to fender well
4 pop fittings at top of rear bumper
2 pop fittings at bottom front corner
4 plastic push fittings across back/bottom of bumper

obviously unhook the taillights, as well as the corners as well.

Takes a little care to pull the sides out once unscrewed without marring up the car, and the bumper sits with a lip over the support beam so you have to lift it up a tad to pull it back.
