Default scuffed paint from accident

had a guy side swipe me and his metal bumper rubbed against my car. on the door and rear quarter panel.

i washed it and cleaned it off. and used some light polishing compound which removed alot but there is still light what i call streaks of scuff marks that i think bassically cut through the ayers of paint. anyhow ive had a scratch like this before and i went to a paint shot. and he sprayed something on a cloth and it made the scratch go away permanently. he said it was a reducer that kinda melts the paint or something and lets you reapply the excess around like your polishing the car.

i had some myself after that. and it worked great. but i dont remember exactly what kind it was. and now i need to find some. i went to oreily's but i see Paint thinner, reducer but neither are the same container.

is there a certain kind of reducer i should use?

and i know i only use a little amount of it and i make sure and rub it in and wipe off excess quickly.

(DT885 reducer) looks similar to what i had used previously and what the paint shop did also, but im not 100% sure.

here are pictures
