Default High temp paint and clear

Do I need a high temp clear or will regular acyrlic clear work with high temp. I am painting my valve covers so I am afraid regular clear will flake when heated up.
Thanks in advance

Do yourself a favor now, just get them powdercoated...or at the very least stay away from dupicolor. I've had pretty good luck with vht but dupilcolor seems to flake for me and its not lack of prepping. I don't understand it.

i don't know what the hell im doing wrong. usually ill wire brush the part, dip it in a chemical cleaner then wipe down with alcohol. then I'll prime it, sand it down, prime it again then color and clear.
