Erasing Pin stripe Help! I bought my camaro with painted on pinstripes on the side and down the hood..i removed it usig laquer thinner...it seemed to get most of it but their is a faint trail on the front bumper of red where the red line used to be...what is best way to remove?
Just try to buff it. The thinner has taken a layer of the clear off already. You might go all the way through the clear if you sand it. Take a little compound on a terry cloth, and hand buff it.. Wipe with a microfiber towel...
not true at all.. the thinner didn't touch the clear unless its like a rattle can clearcoat.. the only thing that might have happened are light scratches made by the towel/cloth you used... and if you're using the proper grit sandpaper it would take a long time to sand through clearcoat. Use 2000-2500 grit if you're worried about it. Then buff... it'll come out
