Default F-Body Clear...

So my SS is in need of some time under my porter cable. I have ordered in some Sonus polishes:

SFX-1 Restore
SFX-2 Enhance Swirl
SFX-3 Final Finish
Sonus/Klasse Spray Sealant


My question is, how hard or how thick is the factory paint generally? Should I have much concern going to town with the porter cable? I think most of my swirls are medium but there are some deep scratches that will NEED the heavy compound... Advice?

your still supposed to start with the lighter cut, and see if it gets them out before moving on the the heavier cutting compounds.

like he said, start with the light stuff and work your way to the heavy cut. once the scratches are gone, then you now what polish to start with. of course only test one spot.

Ok thats what I was gonna do...but I mean if the lighter cut doesnt take them all out should I be ok with the heavier cut? I mean, I hear about some cars having much less clear then others... just making sure

its a PC ur working with, youll be fine. if it was a real high speed buffer i might would worry, but its not
