Default Tech advice needed please! (WRECKAGE) :(

Ok guys here are some pics of a fallen warrior, insurance is out of the question and I would like to keep it and go about fixing it and am wondering what my next step would be!? do I take the motor out or take the front apart, I know it needs frame alignment, what would anyone suggest?

Just so it is clear, I hit with the bottom rad support ( a few pics of the damage of that!) a boulder, so the front end had no crush damage just the bottom support went in and up and the frame rails Im assuming did somewhat the same thus everything connected to the top and the bottom and siides went everywhere! no comments please just suggested info, if I take it to a shop do they want the motor and front in? or stripped? any estimates on how much?

thanks in advance all..

Take it to a shop. Let them replace what needs replacing. It will save you the trouble of trying to find parts yourself and not knowing what all needs replacing.

ya that is what i was thinking, my question is do you think taking it to the shop the way it is would be the way to go? and any estimates (obviously would have to really examine the amount of damage) on approx. how much it could be?

a shop will charge for everything that needs to be done, if you are good with taking the car apart and putting it together, strip the front end down, including the motor so its a roller and take it to a shop that has the right frame equipment to do all the frame work, and you put it back together, will save you lots o money and you will be a little more intimate with your car

oh and cost of repair i approx 2500 to 4000, including labor and materials if a good shop does it start to finish and you do nothing but stroke a check

that helps out alot, lol ya i am intimate with my car to an extent but jsut wondering if repair shops prefer it stripped or together or neither, i think it will be more than that for parts and labor though, im guessing 6k... Thanks all, I wish someone who does this for a living would chime in

when i got into my accident they quoted me like 10,500 for the repair through a chevy dealer. i dont think yours looks that bad mine had a lot of frame damage. the body guy i talked to said it could be done so yours should be easier

I would suggest to go to a shop as it is and have them look at it. have them determine what needs to be repaired/replaced and the total amount. see if you can get some used parts, maybe work out a deal to cut the cost if you want to strip it down and put it together yourself and have them work the body and paint.

I would say most body shops would not work on that due to the subframe being twisted. It's a liability to them if you ever get in another front end collision. Either way you probably wouldn't want to pay their prices. I had an accident years ago that was alot milder than yours and my total cost ended up being around $7,500. I would start gathering parts numbers for gmpartsdirect.com, buy yourself a set of body hammers and go to town.

i been buyin wrecked cars for a while and i just took a frame collision course, im no master at this but there is no reason to take the engine out.. just pull all your panels off get the radiator and fans out of the way and that will be enough. it shouldnt even cost to much to get the frame work done. Good luck with the car.
