door skin splitting off?!?

door skin splitting off?!? my drivers side door skin is seperating from the inner shell on the front half on the drivers side. is this common? and what causes this and can it be fixed without buying a new door?
I think that GM didn't use a very good adhesive. My old camaro (my buddy bought it) started doing it right when he got it, and I know I didn't slam the door when I had it so I believe that they didn't use very good adheasive.
You should be able to get some two part metal bonding. Cant think of the name.
