do u have to snad the car down and what all would i need to do this thanks and pics of lt1s with flat black paint job

i went to my local John Deere store and picked up some Blitz Black paint and some reducer.scuff your car down and shoot it,looked real good and layed very flat.some guys who have bagged trucks gave me the idea,said its what they use too.
