paint ok well my car clear coat is coming off. so i sanded off the clear with 320 or 180 grade paper.it is smooth. my question is can i just paint over it or do i have to primmer it. any help
you used a much too heavy grit on your car. you could have just wetsanded it and use the base coat as a primer but now that you are down to the metal you need to use a lighter grit and then prime

when you say its peeling off or coming off is this is refernce to the 90`s delamination where the base and clear was coming off in sheets, or is this a situation where the part was repainted and due to poor preping the clear is coming off
i have done repaints where the clear would come off with my blow gun, or just a bondo spreader YIKES!! so before i give my advice ya need to explain a bit more

i mean i sanded down all the clear off. it still has the silver base paint on just no more clear. there are some spots that i sanded pass the silver base paint it like green under there but none of it is showing metal. i did sand down the front fenders down to the black
