Need help repainting!
Need help repainting! I need a few things repainted on my car and would like to do it myself so I can learn a little about painting and hopefully save some money. I'm assuming the previous owner had the door repainted from the side molding, up. Because the bottom part of the door the paint is in very good condition. Looks like it got resprayed and they didn't put a clear coat on it but i could be wrong. It looks terrible though and has progressively gotten worse. Here's some pictures of the car. My front bumper has very bad stress cracks, it's in a few of the pictures as well.
Let me know any steps i need to take to tackle this project on my own. I'm a noob lol. I read all the stickies so I have a little understanding of how the paint process works.

You've got some issues with this car. All of the cracking on the bumper and dull paint on the door is from a cheapy repair. Its probally a synthetic enamel or simlar. Basically a Macco special.
The problem lies with needing to know how to deal with it. That stuff should be sanded off to prevent "lifting" when the new material is applied.
To explain how to prep and paint these areas would require a novel on the forums. Do a google search. There are plenty of websites relating to DIY paint jobs.

... It's gonna definitely be a learning experience lol 
Prep work is going to be key. I used HOK paint, it comes with specific instructions for prepping the car. But basically your going to sand it down, then prime it if need be then seal it then spray it. Grit depends on what step your on. Decide what paint system your going to use then follow their directions.
