Can i paint chrome emblems?? ok so i got chrome emblems on my car but i now want to have gun metal gray emblems and i was wondering if i can just paint the chrome emblems?....after i sand them and prep them of course...... and what should i use to stick them back on my car?
mmmm i think u better get ready colored emblems bcoz i belive chrome are much more expensive than the non chromed one so if u want chrome back u gna spend more...and ofcourse u can paint them...about the stick them back am facing same problem i think 2 side sticker would help,in US its named 2M or something...and again ready colored will b ready to stick so its easier..gd luck
i painted the chrome lugnuts that came with my rims black. just sanded, painted, and cleared. and they've held up great with all the times i've pulled the tires of. so you should be okay with it.
for reinstalling, go to the store and pick up some auto trim adhesive.
before you remove the letters surround them with masking tape, making a box around them, so that you know exactly where to lay them when you put them back on.

You can paint the chrome, just use a gray scuff pad and scuff em up. Clean them with any kind of silicon free cleaner (laquer thinner works great) and shoot. And RTV silicon work great for adhesion!
you can paint ANYTHING as long as you prep the item properly (scuff/sand with proper grit) and use the right type of paint. i spray painted chrome wheels and they looked awesome. rock chips were another story, although the finish was unbelievable for a spray can over chrome
