Clear coat is peeling on the passenger side of my bumper on my V. Not happy about it either. I think the PO had it resprayed by Miracle and they did a shitty job. Now I have to figure out how to take the ******* bumper off and take it to my uncle for a repaint.

gm paint does not suck. You just have to take care of it just like every other paint. get a razor blade razor the peeling clear back. once it stops. sand the hood with eight hundred and make sure the clear is spread back and you can't feel it anymore. once you have this back you need to blend it into the paint that already has clear. then clear the whole hood. And for ta make you're going to have to do 220 your whole hood and block it there's no hope lol

Wow, damn that sucks. . . . .

It's weird, it's seems kinda like some just peel and some don't.

My 98' was never waxed and sat in the sun. When I got it, I waxed it, clay bared it then buffed it.

Now it looks like a brand new car, well except for the front bumper which is pitted to hell.

Ya know what sucks the most about it is driving around town, LOL. It dont matter how fast or nice the car sounds, with the paint peeling I get looked at like a damn redneck driving a fbody. And mine is my daily driver so I'm stuck driving it around. I have nicknamed it the " ol' peeler ", LMFAO

is that an original ws6 car because if it isn't a painter probably didn't know what he was doing. I see jobs like that all the time in my shop where they thought they save some money. lol "good work isn't cheap, cheap work isn't good"

Not compared to say Az or South Texas, LOL. But it gets in the 90's to 100 pretty consistantly in the late summer sometimes. But mine didnt start peeling until after the ice storm 2yrs ago. Once the ice melted it started to bubble & peel off in sheets. Somehow water got underneath the clear coat & I could push water bubbles around with my finger.

And I dont have a garage either, so my car is stuck outside year round. I hate it but also dont have $20k to build a shop or add a big enough garage to our house to keep me happy, LOL. Its getting painted soon in Hot Rod black cause its cheap & looks good. Later on I might drop the big money to have a nice NBM paint job done correctly, but it'll be years down the road.

Man, I live in AZ. . . . I can not leave my car in the Sun. A garage is a must have. I seen cars lose their clear coat in less then 2 years if they are left outside all the time.
