79 Caprice Replacements
I have a 79 Caprice 2door. i need a trunk, hood and 2 doors. I can't find anything 77-79 for these but i found an 80's hood and trunk. Does anyone know if these will fit my 79. i know they are all the same body style.

I don't believe so. my parents had an 84 caprice 4 door and an 84 wagon and my grandma had a 79 4 door and all the body panels on both except for i believe the wagon's rear door were changed between 79 and 80. the glass is the same except for the rear window and rear side windows on a 77-79 coupe which became flat in 80 but as far as i know none of the coupe/sedan body panels are interchangeable between 77-79 and 80-90. they made the car more aerodynamic in 1980.
77-79 coupe
80+ coupe
if you can't really tell, there is a definate difference in the body creases on the hood and sides. and here are pics of the trunks which are also different.
77-79
80-90
and since i was looking for all these caprice pictures and found this and couldn't stop laughing, i just had to post it. it looks to be a 4 door by the length of that drivers door.

the doors are not the same. neither is the hood. the caprice was redesigned in 1980 to be more aerodynamic. i don't believe anything swaps except for the wagon tailgate.
77-79 (it's from an olds but all the wagons shared the same rear door sheetmetal)
80+
i'm pretty sure that's the ONLY interchangeable body panel between a 77-79 caprice and an 80-90

Thanks man! I'm still on the hunt for doors, trunk and hood. Fiberglass hoods run at about 400. Not bad plus weight reduction lmao. Here's how mine sits right now.

yeah it migt be hard to see but if you look at the doors there is a crease on the 77-79 that 80-90 doesn't have as well as the curviture of the front part of the door just above the mirror which is more rounded on an 80-90 than a 77-79.
it might be hard to find fiberglass doors for a caprice.
