Default Please help - bent body panel :(

I brought my car to my performance shop to put on rims and tires, and when I got home I noticed something was off. It looks like the panel is bent and it's pushing on the ground fx. Could this happen by being lifted improperly?

Is this something that can be bent back? I really don't know anything about body work, please offer any suggestions. Trying not to freak out...

looks like maybe it was jacked up on the mounting tabs for the fender. If so they would need to bent back or if really busted possibly just drill a couple screws in like mine

Thats very easy to fix, look under the car under there, youll see a 90 degree piece of metal pointing towards the ground... Youll more than likely see it bent to ****, take some wide vise grips and bend it back towards the inside, once you see it youll understand.. The jack they used must have bent it.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I'll have to take a better look at it.

95maro - where would the screws go?? I'm hoping it can just be bent back.

9 times out of 10 the tab on fender will be broken or cracked.
I have made re enforcements out of metal and glued them on countless
fenders due to some nitwit jacking in wrong place and smashing the fender mount.
I would have the shop that did this fix it.Maybe then it will save the next guy some grief.

I'm just going to bring it in and see what happens. One more question - can I make it worse by driving the car?

Nope, it's just a tab under the fender that needs to be bent back. You can fix it without jacking the car up, even.

Try heating it up a little and bend back. I did this on my dad's Z28.

My car had the same same thing going on. It was like that when i bought it. I always thought my doors were not aligned right. I just took a look under my car. WOW those tabs bent like crazy up on both sides. How could somebody not notice they are doing that when they jack up a car. Anyways... It was super easy to fix. Like stated previously, you just have to bend the tabs back. I heated them up with a heat gun first, bent it out enough that i could remove the two screws, once removed i used the vice grips to just straighten out. I then up heated up the plastic fender tab and shaped it back so it lines up correctly, screwed it back on and thats it. took me like 20 minutes and it looks great!

I would head back to the shop that did work/damage, prior to doing anything. Just to let it be known that there may be issues. When a attempted repair is made. Other wise you may be at a loss if you cause further damage.

To add just to let them know they screwed up and damaged your car. Dont let them get away with it. They were fully in the wrong.

Unless your positive you can fix it with out any more damage.
