Default Help making T/A hatch fit

whats up guys, i need some help. i bought a trans am hatch last night off a 2002 t/a and im having trouble lining up where it clicks into the car(near the tail lights) anyone know if theres some sort of adjustment somewhere? the "U" shapped piece of metal thats on the underside of the hatch seems to be about 3/4" to 1" to the right(passenger side) any ideas?

The U shape piece has 4 bolts in it, loosen them and you get quite a bit of room to slide it side to side and back and forth, just keep moving it until you get it right. It takes awhile I've done it several times

Remove the latch that came on the TA hatch.
Replace with the latch on your current hatch.
Ran into a similar issue trying to fit my 2000 hatch onto a friend's 95 bird. Swapped latches, and it worked perfect.

I'm referring the U-shaped thing.

Actually, that's what worked. I had to take the latch of the stock hatch. Believe it or not if you hold the two latches side by side the 93-97 was centered and the 98-02 is off centered to the right. Thanks for the advice

another small tip when realigning parts like a hood, hatch, doors always take the striker out(the small u shape thingy) leaving the striker in when your trying to get gaps is like trying to fit a sock on a chicken

when you have nice gaps then you can start adjusting the striker
