These were taken in full sun, but not shining directly on the car. I just figured out, after taking these pictures, that the car has to be in direct sunlight to see the flake.

I think you need to take photos during high noon instead of dusk. These photos, with all due respect, don't do your car justice. I imagine that's a really nice green but these photos don't look all that hot. Too much flash exposing the wheel wells and not enough going towards the paint. Try my advice and see what happens. GL
Edit: didn't realize u did day shots. They do look much better, but it still looks like you chose a cloudy day. Perhaps it's not like the FL sun where u live, but bright light would help produce amazing photos of that paint.
