Default Cost to paint a hood?

Im looking for a new hood for my z28 at the moment, and am leaning towards a sunoco or an oem ss hood. however, im mainly looking around in the classifieds and was wondering if i should purchase a hood for a good deal even if its not in my car's color. obviously the cost of painting the hood would vary from place to place, but anybody have a ballpark estimate of what it would cost to paint one of these hoods?

most body shops should charge 150-200 plus materials.. depending on what color paint you have to get would also vary your material cost.. red being the highest paint to buy cause of all the hues it takes to make.

Are you putting the hood on or is the paint shop doing it? That will make the cost go up if the shop has to fit/cut the hood to ACTUALLY fit. With that being said a good ballpark for a GOOD paint job would be in the 500-600 dollar range.

FTW. Have the shop do it. We have customers "do" it and we have to re-install it. 5-600 should get the hood fitted and even gaps, paint matched and blended into fenders and bumper. Do cheap out or cut corners you will not be happy.
