Bumper repair and paint. I have a 3-4 inch cut in the front bumper and just kind of looking around at my options. A new front cost about 200-250 bucks and then would need to be painted. I also have some paint fade on the hood, that needs to get touched up. I dont want to take the car to a body shop unless i have too so i was considering trying to use M3 bond on the bumper and trying to buffer the hell out of the hood.

the hood has been buffed to far so buffing will not make it any better with the bumper there are steps you have to take to get a bumper repair to take if you fill it with the 3m stuff with out prepping it right it will fall right off
i would go to a good local body shop, that is known for doing good repairs not just parts changing and get them to throw you a cash price, at my shop i would take 500-600 to fix the bumper and hood but if you take the parts off they may charge you less

Thats not too bad. I replaced the bumper on my 2000 WS6 for about 200 and paint was another 200. I think repainting my hood was about 250-300 if i remember right. I kind of wanted to do as much of the prep work as i could myself.
I am assuming by prep work you mean removing the paint around the area of application, then making sure there is no oil or any contaminants on the surface that you are trying to bond too.

If the clear in the area on the hood has not broke down you can sand it w/ 500 and the rest of the hood with 1000 and paint it. Thats in a perfect world. Typically the front of the hood will have some rock chips that will have to be da'd out and primed then blocked and finish sanded w/ 500 for paint. A little more work but worth doing right if you paint the hood.
