have a 2000 trans am ws6 black, my driver side mirror assmbly is loose/broke, the metal 3 bolt triangle ish bracket on the inside is cracked on top so its just the bottom holding it on so it kinda just bounces around, tryed local auto shops to see if they could order it and looked around online and have had a hard time finding it, besides cragislist/junkyards any place yall recommand getting one at? thanks

You seem to listed all the options. My preference is oem parts so I 'd say check out someone parting their car on tech or in your local classifieds.

I've never seen that metal piece since I've never had mine off. It's supposed to be pot steel and weak so it'll break away instead of letting your mirror get crunched. I'd like to get ahold of one and try to get the piece made out of aluminum.

try ebay, sales section, or junk yard - had to buy the whole mirror there but probly cheaper than just the triangle somewhere else. and i tried everything to fix it, all types of liquid weld stuff, epoxy's, glue's, etc, best i found (lasted for 6 mo.) was a two part epoxy for ceramic pieces ; id just replace

I don't think you can solder or weld that pot iron.
