I used Dupli-color Lacquer black and clear. |
i dont remember if i used rust oleum or duplicolor.. but same shit happened that sux man.. i know how u feel..lol |
Does anyone why this happens????? |
I know when you use some clears in too many coats it'll start to haze out. looking gray over dark colors or white over lighter colors. Try wet sanding it. If that doesn't work then damnit. Why it's caused? I don't remember but I only do On coat of clear always to prevent this. |

SOunds like too muuch clear was applied at one time. You should do it in about 3 coats all being a medium wet coat. Not a heavy coat as that is what whites out. That and use the same company for paint and clear. Some may not be compatible with each other. |

Those cans of clear don't do will with natural humidity. Spray the clear on and bring it inside your house and have your heater or AC running. If it's dried like that now, you'll have to re-apply color then the clear again. Then like I said, bring it inside for a couple hours. |
Sometimes when there is high humidity that makes the black haze up and look gray then when you cleared it was over that hazed gray look. Laquer in rattle cans will do that. Try again when it is a dry warm day. |
OK I have some 400 sandpaper, i will hit it a little and then go again. The black looked really good, I put on 6 light coats and it was Black. it was definitely the clear that made it look gray. I will try again tomorrow. Thanx to everyone for your input. |
