Default Paint fading

Hi I have a 99 nbm trans am and behind my rear glass the paint is fading white, it's not a huge spot but it's like 2 strips on both sides between my glass and spoiler. Has anyone ever seen this happen before? And how much should I expect to pay if I don't get anything else blended and I ask to just match the best they can. Each faded spot is maybe a little over a foot long and 5 inches wide or so

Perhaps the hatch has been painted before.

It's probably clear coat delamination. Repair would require a repaint of the panel. Cost would depend on the painter.

Try a professional detailer first. They can use a paint meter to determine if it can be fixed by just using compound and possibly wet sanding. Shouldn't cost much. A repaint can cost $300 - $500 for just the small spot + blending.

Consider that I live in California lol. Elsewhere is always cheaper than Cali
