Default Windshield removal on 99 firebird?? How to??

I need to get my windshield out to put a cage in my car. Its already cracked so I dont care if it gets broke any more. For the trim/edge what needs to be saved? can it be reused? On each side there is a plastic strip separate from the one on the windshield, does that get saved? How do you cut the glass out with out destroying it? Any one know of a write up or pics of this process?

nothing is reusable.... the trim might be but it will be covered with the sealant and will likely be trashed when you pull it out... go to harbor freight and get a removal tool and some pam cooking spray.. haha.. also, cover everything with bed sheets.. doors, seats and dash... you will get tiny splinters of glass everywhere if this is your first time...

Call an automotive glass replacement company. They will come to your place, pull it in no time and clean up their mess but unfortunately the crack is gonna get a whole lot worse and your windshield will most likely not be able to be re-installed. Just have a pro do this part and have them install a new windshield when your done.

I called the local glass guy we use & he came out and pulled it for 20 bucks Since I promised him the install job on the new windshield
