front bumper fix Ive been looking for this for months and I just found it at a local yard laying on the floor for 30 bucks. The right side is cracked and is missing some material as you can see. I like doing things myself. What materials do I need to prep it before I take it to the paint shop.
Be sure you reinforce the corner well. I am sure you can see that this is an attachment area for the bumper cover to the fender and if the fit is to look good, this area needs to be the right thickness, shape and be strong as well. Be sure to allow for the pressure that may be put on the joint from fender to bumper cover once you bolt them together.
I know nothing of the materials or how to work with them, but I have swapped bumper covers several times and know to be very careful to get that point above the side marker just right. If it doesn't fit right, the light really reflects badly and it is very noticeable. Are you planning to paint it yourself? If not, I'd chat with the painter before messing with the repair yourself.
