If trying to fill a dent without popping any of it back out or any other of what may be termed proper repair methods, I'd use USC or Evercoat all metal filler for the worst of it &finish it & the surrounding area off with a smoother filler like evercoat metal glaze. Metal glaze will stick to clean & scuffed paint, all metal fiiler requires sanding down to bare metal to stick. Keep in mind that a deep dent will usually raise the height of the area immediately surrounding it Which requires skill to flatten it back down or filler for a longer ways away from it to hide the raised area.

If you can access the bottom of that area, hammering it back up would difinitely help. Go at it carefully & if you don't have bodywork tools, holding a block of wood on the topside of the area as a dolly will help.
