no you can pop the bolts out of the door first and either set the door down or you can take the door panel off then unplug all the wiring out of the door and remove the door completly but it is possible to do it without doing it the wiring way,.,,,just know the doors kinda heavy

Pull the fender liner and do it from inside the fender. Remove one of the hinges at a time with the door closed, then replace one, and remove and replace the other. So the door doesn't go anywhere while you're changing it.
