Cool SLP Grill Project

Picked this grill up really reasonable, but it was damaged with some distortion, deep scratches, and spider webbing. Plan is to repair the damage and custom paint it with a white center with a gunmetal surround and center line. Emblempros is making a one-off bowtie badge for it also.

When I got it:

Big shout out to Maxplusten for all his hard work on the grill. It's not all the way finished yet, but here it is with paint, no clear or anything yet...

Slow and steady with a heat gun. As it warms up, you can manipulate the shape of it. Just be careful because to much heat in one spot will ruin the finish.

pretty much what tmurph said, just alot of heating, bending, heating bending... i was able to get it pretty close, what i couldnt get straight i corrected with filler. Then just alot of highbuild primer and sanding. Overall wasnt to bad... hopefully ill have some pics of it cleared here soon. Unfortunatly i have a little blemish i have to sand back out. Just waiting on the clear to finish setting up now. Really makes the colors pop though.

slight update... I used a new clear on this thing and its refusing to set up right for me. Has the whole project stalled. 3 days and its still not dry to the touch, i guess since it had a hard time setting it developed a fairly nasty little run in it. Shouldnt be hard to take care of once it drys but at this rate that may be awhile hopefully ill have a photo update soon
