Default Back glass replacement

I know a guy thats need a rear hatch but his glass is good. I've got a hatch but my window is knocked out. Is it possible to remove his window and install it in my hatch? If so what exactly is the procedure for taking out the glass. Is it glued in or what?

Yes, the glass is glued in all the way around...and very well to. I tried removing my rear glass when I painted my hatch and I didn't even know where to start. A glass guy charged me $30 to remove it and even he had a hell of a time. I think it took him almost an hr. He used a few different blades and glass chisels to cut the glue out. He was removing chunks and chunks of glue and it was still not moving.

Sounds like a pain in the butt! Lol Ill be removing mine also eventually, lets see how it goes I worked for a insulation company for about 2 years and I did a lot of things such as removing windows, installing panels, doors and many more things on Oil Rigs and ships. I hope removing the glass isnt too hard

Most people just buy hatches with glass. I VERY rarely have seen anyone swapping glass in or out!

Call an Autoglass place. It might be cheaper than you think and they mostly come to you to do it. Removing glued in glass on late model cars is a pita.
