Default Thanks Plastidip!! With pics.

Today I got around to painting my faded lid (looked real bad.) It was real easy. I messed up the first time because I got particles in the paint(painted outside) All i did was peal it off haha. Love this stuff. Second try was inside and much better. Put in back on the car and the radiator support looked like poopoo. Soooooo I painted that too. Did some touch up paint in other places while I was there. Looks alot better. Yes my car is dirty, damn pollen, but the pics show the progrss. Considering putting some kind of logo/decal on the lid where the SLP was. What yall think??

When I first got it

Then FRCs

Faded lid

Lid and radiator support painted

Close up lid pic. you can see the pollen already

I did my Berger panel, wheels, fog inlets, front catfish mouth, spare tire compartment since I relocated my battery in there and its chemical resistant in case of spilliage and fumes.

the only thing that could potentially get hot I guess is the wheels for me and they are holding strong, many people have been painting their wheels with this stuff. its just the same thing as the coating on the handles of tools. idle about under the hood but I think an intake would be fine

How does plastidip handle carwash soap and such? I'm going to be painting my TA bumper (CETA) whenever the nice weather rolls in and I have always wondered how it will hold up to washes?

You can actually plasti-dip your exhaust tips! It can handle a good amount of heat actually. Go on their website and watch a couple of their vids... good info there

Awesome. Thanks. Just hope it's not one of those things that fade after a few washes. I tend to wash my car(s) more than I should. Can't stand the thought of someone seeing them dirty, lol.

I've been tempted by what I've read else where to paint my whole car with the stuff as a cheap alternative to vinyl wrap.

Well I finally decided to take the chance. Had a somewhat warm day and went for it:

BEFORE:
TAPED OFF:
FINISHED PRODUCT:

There are some places I'm not happy with and I don't think you can really see in the pics, so once the really nice weather sets in I think I'll pull it off and re-do this job again. But overall it really brings a TA to life in my opinion.
