Quarter panel size

Quarter panel size i had a small accident back in 2012
in the left rear quarter panel,
recently i got lca's & phb, so i was trying to center the rear by looking at the rear, i noticed that my left quarter panel is bigger than my right & i can notice it easily.
since the car is already at the body shop im wondering is the left quarter panel supposed to be a bit bigger?
when i took measurements from inside the wheel well left side had a 0.3-0.5 inch difference than the right side.
sadly the pics that i have of the car now aren't that clear on the issue but tomorrow i'll get them.
shop says that since the quarter panel is steel it can't really be stretched out more and since i dont have a recall of how the car looked like i can't really compare.
what do you guys think?
