Default General cost estimate to fix this dent

Long story short, my best friend's cousin hit my car coming out of the driveway just now. I don't wanna charge her for anything and feel like an *******. How much do you estimate this would cost to fix? I'm going away to school soon, so if its a lot, I'm not even gonna go for it. Such a shame, it was my baby.

PS - I don't have time or knowledge, for that matter, to tackle this on my own, so I was planning on having it done at a body shop. I know the realest estimate would be if I actually went, but I just wanna know your thoughts on it.

Not sure on the cost but you shouldn't feel bad for asking someone to pay for damage they caused.

Is this a dent in the plastic bumper? It's kind hard to see in the picture.

hard to tell by the pic but you may need a new bumper. looks like there may be damage on the qtr panel too. im gonna estimate between 600-900.

if you can get a bumper and fender from a yard, that would be cheapest, even better if you could get the same color,(when I did my Trans Am upgrade to my 2000 Formula, I only had to paint the front bumper, everything else, rocker moldings, hatch, rear bumper were already black ) but if not, 3gensoff has a pretty good estimate, 600 to 900 sounds about right.

You say you don't wanna tackle with it, but you gotta remember that this is plastic. If I was you I would just heat it with a heat gun and pull the dent out a little bit. It's not gonna look the same as it was before because most likely you wont be able to get it back into shape perfectly, but will look better than it is now and will only be noticeable from very close- the black is your friend here. Just be careful and don't heat it too much to not mess up the paint. This kind of repair you can do in under an hour with about $20-30 worth of tools (heat gun and something to pull the plastic, trim removal tool might work), instead of 600-900 shop charge. At least temporarily, or permanently if you do a good job. However I would just talk to that girl and if she's a decent person she will agree to at least cover some of the cost.

really easy fix if the plastic isnt cracked or paint isnt chipped. gm put a ton of flex in their paint for plastic vehicles lol so the actual dent comes from the bracket that holds the bumper to the fender. it also houses the fog light bracket. if i were you i would take the hour or so it takes to remove the bumper and remove the bracket you will have to drill out three rivets and then buy a new bracket rivet it in and put the bumper back on. trying to bend it exactly straight is going to be more frustrating than just buying new. ive done this three times with my car. i estimate free labor and $70 for bracket IF the paint isnt chipped or bumper broken
