Default Rear bumper question

Is a 97 rear bumper the same as a 2001? My 01 needs a replacement and there is a decent deal on a 97 bumper in my area.

Any suggestions on stripping the paint to prepare for new paint?

Thanks, Mike Jones

If I remember correctly, everything from the doors back on 93-02 Camaros were exactly the same, only exterior change was from firewall forward in 98, same applies to Firebirds. Only exception is the bumpers that had the factory installed ground effects.
