Window stabilizer question
I just replaced both of the broken stabilizers on the passenger side and was wondering how do you know how much tension to apply to them before tightening them down?

roll the window down about half way, adjust them until the amount of wiggle of the window with you grabbing it and rocking it in and out of the car is minimal, then roll it up and down a few times to make sure its not to tight. loosen if needed

if it seems like the window is slowing down a bit on the way up or down. Since the window doesnt have a frame to speak of the guides are to aid in keeping the window in line. Thats why I suggested limiting the amount of wiggle you get, but you dont want it to tight that it restricts the ease of upward and downward. Some wiggle is fine as well, just get it where you are comfortable with it.
I had the same issue with one of mine coming loose over the years but it also got bent and I ended up welding it back together...... not the greatest fix but it worked. makes the window rattle opening and closing the doors when its as loose as mine was.
Its also been a while so when you make adjustments you may want to keep in eye on where the top rim of the window ends up when the door is shut. If you go to snug it may cause the window to lean away from the upper seal (t-top area if you have those) and not seal as tightly if that makes sense.
