Default Door rub/ alignment

Ok so my drivers door appears to have straight body lines, but it has rubbed the paint off the rocker panel..... It's about an 18 inch thin strip.

What would cause this and how should I fix this?

Can I raise the striker an 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch?

I'll post a picture tonight after work.

Hinges tight? Bad hinge could cause the door to sag. Open door, lift up and down on it to see if there is play.

It's probably just the little strip of rubber on the bottom of the door that's rubbed the paint off the rocker.
