Underhood condensation normal?
Underhood condensation normal? Recently I had to remove the firemat under the hood to seal off the 2 scoops that were leaking water in. Now they are sealed and don't leak in but I found the hood still picks up condensation without the leak. In the form of droplets and just water collecting. It seems exactly in the area the mat covered. The car is raised because I am working on it. By maybe a foot or so...and it has been on and off raining so yes there is humidity in the air would the car being raised be more the cause?
Is it normal? Do u think maybe the firemat also doubles to prevent this? Its not in great shape so I was considering not putting it back on.

1999 was the last year for the the hood insulator, 2000+ F-bodies didn't get this so it's not really required equipment. In other words, I wouldn't be worried about not having it.
So then that just leaves the condensation as normal ? I guess. Dammit or weatherstripping fail. The 2 stock scoops are def not leaking I tested w direct water. It really does seem to just condense there.
