Minor cosmetic changes for 2016 Did a 2010 Camaro nose conversion to my 83 el camino in late 2009'.Like it or absolutely hate it, it got attention. Since I got some passenger side interstate guardrail damage getting cut off in traffic last year it was time to start changing things again.
Previous 2010 nose.
In progress 2016 nose swap, grilles not installed in pic.
My existing rear that I've been deciding on for years.
Partially done 2016 Z-o6 vette rear, will need to drastically reshape old 59'chevy inspired bedcover to look like a vette spoiler from rear.
Also filling in quarter windows, flush door handles at top of door, &custom front fender vents. Will be removing swordblades & extending rear ground effects. Doing metalwork to flush front windshield.

Will cut down bedcover side height to about half of current height,probably just a simple 10 to 20 degree side slope rather than the fin shape. Just not decided on the details yet.
I never did a thread on the hood mechanism, I did this before I started getting on the internet regularly in 2011. You could call it a parallelogram linkage.
The 2 unequal length hood hinge bars on each side have a center bar linking them together. A 1" hollow metal rod with a 6 to 8" long linkage bar on each end connects the center bars allowing everything to work as a unit. The 1 " bar is currently powered by a chain drive to a 12 volt atv winch motor controlled by a manual switch or a Dakota digital remote. In the 2011 u-tube video the chain drive linkage was put together a few hours before the show & not quite smooth yet. The biggest problem with this type of linkage is there isn't much packaging room under a car hood for it, making it more difficult.
