Default Painting lid

Just got an FTP lid and I want to smooth and paint it to get rid of the cheap ABS texture. When sanding, should I sand all the way down through the texture or just knock it down a bit? Don't want to thin the plastic out too much.

And what fillers are recommended for plastic like this?

Thanks!

Id rough it up a bit then go back with a highbuild primer use that to get your smoothing down, May want to put some tape where the tubing slips over the snout for the TB side so you dont add to much and make it difficult to slip the coupler over

Default Plastic Painting

Painting plastic entails different prep work than steel. You need to sand with red or gray scuff pad(Scotch-brite). Clean with IPA(isopropyl alcohol). Spray with adhesion promoter first, then apply primer and paint. Follow promoter directions on can.
