Epoxy primer I’m about to change out my bubbling sail panel.Going to use the required epoxy primer.My question is I have black primer.Should i tint the primer or will the red paint cover good without tinting primer?

Can't tint most primers, especially black epoxy.
In general for painting red, white primer will make color pop a little more (brighter), but take longer to cover. Doubt your paint job has white primer underneath. Grey or black will cover faster. I'd just use the black.

Can't argue with jicutomz on this epoxies are generally not tintable. If you are trying to match paint it is a good idea to use what the factory used underneath the base. Reds often used gray for sealer color. If matching it is a good idea to do a spray out card and borrow the variant deck from your paint supplier. When I matched my red Z28 a few years ago I choose the bluer than prime variant and kept adding the blue toner off the mixing bank formula. Each time basing and clearing my gray sealed spray out card. It took seven adjustments to get it spot on. Good luck, only make small adjustments and the color will come in.

Painter sealed it with grey.He was about to lay down the red but i had to leave.I’ll see how it turned out Monday or Tuesday.keeping my fingers crossed till then.I dropped the car off and i’m going over Tuesday and we are going to tear the top off.Hope all goes well and finally get this bubbly mess gone once and for all!
