Unfortunately by the time you see rust on the exterior there is usually a lot more that you can't see yet. As mentioned above it can get very expensive unless you know how to do it yourself and even then it may be more work than most people are willing to do.

Jeez man......the owner of the car on post #1 is the issue.....who lets rust get that damn bad?

I just got home 10 days ago from being away overseas for 3 months and I noticed a pea sized rust spot in my door jam area undert the weather strip.......its ging to the body shop on Thursday. He's gonna do a complete rust check of the car ands repair and repaint this little tiny spot. This will be te second rust spot in 23 years I found, lthe first one in my hatch area cost about $150.00 total to fix and was about the size of a dime. This one might be the same as this shop re-paints, blends to match perfectly.

As mentioned, thats gonna cost A LOT to have fixed.

That car is toast.
Sorry man I do body work, and you would have to cut out large sections, but even then it wouldn't be worth it.
I'd sell the car, part it out, and look for a good deal on a Z28 or Formula.

That is a mint Ohio car. The OP should list the car on Toledo Craigslist.
