71 camaro resto mod
Plan for the car is ls1 t56 swap and a chassis works frame and suspension. I knew when I bought it the passenger rear quarter was likely gonna have to be fully replaced and im not wrong now that im stripping it.
The question I have for the other panels knowing im not restoring it with all original parts or anything, am I better off to just get new sheet metal for the front and doors? Im not gonna get to painting it anytime soon and since that stuff comes in a protective coating it seems like saving money on the front end to just buy new and not bother with the labor to fix the old stuff. passenger door skin is already bulged at the seems and there are bubbles in the lower spots of the fenders. Im aware that even new panels will require some work prior to paint, but given the amount of time it will take me to finish this out i feel like the EDP coating is a benefit in that case and I wont have to worry about them rotting out over time.
Am I wrong to think in the long run im better off to just get all new doors and front fendners to go with? I already have to buy the upper and lower header panel and I want a different hood. Trunk panel has already been replaced cause the underside of it is EDP coated.
