Default Powder coat question

Hey guys, I had some motorcycle wheels shot in powder coat and although they did a decent job masking off all necessary areas (bearing holes, disc brake threads, etc) there are a few spots where it isn't perfect, like where the rotors sit and what not. Just want to make sure it's perfect so I dont have any issues after assembly like brake vibration and what not. Also a little lumpy on the flanges above where the bearing seals sit (shouldnt be an issue but again just want to avoid any headaches)

Thought i'd ask you guys what the best way is to do some light touch up removal. I was gonna go straight for the sand paper but just thought i'd ask for some tips first. Just want a clean bare surface in a few key spots.

Powder is basically plastic so it doesn't sand very well. I would go after the bad spots that you want to remove with a exact dow knife or razor blade.

Why not just take it back to the shop,, if they messed up putting the coating on or overheated it in the oven your rims could be junk..

I've read wheels shouldn't be baked above 400 degrees F. Might want to ask them about that.

A gun that's spitting could cause lumps, basically old powder or a bad gun. Sounds like a bad coat, I wouldn't mount a tire for fear of it peeling in the next 2 years.

... for now...

To keep my post constructive, I've found you can treat clear powder coat much like paint. Wax, correct with sand paper and polishing compounds, etc.
